Messy Bun Tutorial

Hello everyone! Pinch, punch, first day of the month and no return! (haha, I'm so lame)
Today I've been contemplating on what to do this blog post about, so I thought of recent crazes that have been sweeping up the nation. Whilst I was walking around town, I noticed so many girls with their hair up in a messy bun on top of their head. I think this look is very easy to achieve when you know how- so I thought I'd show you a step-by-step guide of how to put your hair up in a pretty-but-messy bun.

Step One
The first thing that you need to do is tip your head forward completely and gather it as if you're going to put it up in an extremely high ponytail. Make sure you have a hair-tie around your wrist! Nothing worse than getting your hair in the perfect place and not having a hair-tie at the ready.

Step Two
The next thing to do is wrap the hair-tie around your hair once, like the picture above shows. Make sure you only wrap it around once, because the next step is quite important!

Step Three
Tie the hair-tie around your hair once again, but only half way. This is important, as it'll act as the bun for your hair. You can then tip your head back up so that the bun is on the top of your head. You will have the ends of your hair out of place, but that'll be sorted out in the next step.

Step Four
Now all you have to do is position the bun either behind or in front of the hair-tie (I always put it in front) and  put that into place with a hairgrip. Then, you need to wrap the ends of your hair around the base of your bun to make it more presentable. Tie these into place with hair grips.

Step Five
The final step is to just tweak it slightly by pulling some smaller hairs out to make it slightly more messy and flattering around the face. And you're done!

I hope you found this tutorial helpful. This is how I've always put my hair in a messy bun and I think it does the job quite nicely. Please excuse my crazy faces, I was in a weird mood. Hope you've enjoyed reading! Don't forget to follow this blog if you want to read more.
Have a great day!
